Abstract
According to one embodiment, a medical image processing apparatus includes first specifier, second specifier, determiner and display controller. First specifier collates an ischemic region calculated from a blood vessel visualized into a three-dimensional image in a plurality of phases with a dominating region of the blood vessel, and specifies a culprit vessel in the ischemic region. Second specifier specifies a culprit stenosis in the culprit vessel based on a pressure index calculated from the blood vessel. Determiner determines a connection position to connect a bypass vessel that makes a detour around the culprit stenosis. Display controller displays the determined connection position on a display.
Claims61
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- receiving a three-dimensional image regarding coronary arteries in a cardiac region;
- extracting a plurality of coronary arteries from the three-dimensional image;
- extracting a narrow part of at least one coronary artery of the plurality of coronary arteries based on a blood vessel shape of said at least one coronary artery;
- calculating a distribution of a pressure index which relates to blood pressure in the at least one coronary artery;
- automatically determining at least one of positions to join a bypass vessel on the at least one coronary artery based on the distribution of the pressure index and the narrow part;
- and
- causing a display to display the narrow part together with a color map representing the distribution of the pressure index, the color map being superimposed on an image corresponding to the coronary arteries.

- extracting a narrow part of at least one coronary artery of the plurality of coronary arteries based on a blood vessel shape of said at least one coronary artery;
- calculating a distribution of a pressure index which relates to blood pressure in the at least one coronary artery;
- causing a display to display a color map and a region corresponding to at least one of a first region where a diameter of the at least one coronary artery is smaller than a predetermined value, a second region where a state of a blood vessel wall falls under a predetermined condition, or a third region located within a predetermined distance from the narrow part, the color map representing the distribution of the pressure index;
- and
- causing the display to display the narrow part together with the color map, the color map being superimposed on an image corresponding to the coronary arteries.
