Abstract
A merchandising system for merchandising product. The merchandising system may include a movable barrier located above a plurality of product and rotatable between an open position which permits removal of product from the display system and a closed position which obstructs access to the product. The merchandising system may also include an alert device configured to provide a signal when the movable barrier is in the open position.

A merchandising system, comprising:
- a display system for displaying a plurality of products, wherein the plurality of products are arranged in a plurality of separate rows;
- a movable barrier mounted to the display system and extending in a downward direction, the movable barrier located at least partially above the plurality of products, wherein the movable barrier is rotatable between an open position which permits removal of at least one of the plurality of products from the display system and a closed position which obstructs access to the plurality of products;
- an alert device configured to provide at least one signal when the movable barrier is in the open position;
- and
- a sensor configured to detect that the movable barrier is in the open position, and the sensor configured to communicate to the alert device that the movable barrier is in the open position;
- and
- wherein the at least one signal is configured to include an audible signal.
