Abstract
A system and method in at least one embodiment for separating fluids including liquids and gases into subcomponents by passing the fluid through a vortex chamber into an expansion chamber and then through at least a portion of a waveform pattern present between at least two rotors and/or disks. In further embodiments, a system and method is offered for harnessing fields created by a system having rotating rotors and/or disks having waveform patterns on at least one side to produce current within a plurality of coils. In at least one embodiment, the waveform patterns include a plurality of hyperbolic waveforms axially aligned around a horizontal center of the system.
Claims21
A disk array for use in a system manipulating at least one fluid, the disk array comprising:
- at least one pair of mated disks having a first disk and a second disk substantially parallel to each other,
- each disk having a waveform surface and a flat surface,
- the waveform surfaces of said first disk and said second disk each having a waveform pattern, the waveform surfaces facing towards each other to substantially form between them a passageway, the flat surfaces of said first disk and said second disk are substantially flat and in one plane,
- at least one mated disk in each pair of mated disks includes at least one opening passing through its height and at an axial center of said disk, and
- a fluid pathway exists for directing fluid through the at least one opening in said disks and through the at least one passageway towards a periphery of said disks;
- and
- each of said waveform patterns includes a plurality of at least one of protrusions and depressions, and
- each of said waveform patterns includes waveforms providing a continuously curved face along any radius extending from a start of said waveform pattern to an end of said waveform pattern.
A disk-pack turbine comprising:
- at least one pair of disks, said disks are substantially parallel to each other, each disk having
- a top surface,
- a bottom surface,
- a plurality of flanges extending radially out from a periphery of said disk, each flange having a plurality of openings passing therethrough,
- a waveform pattern on at least one surface of the disk facing at least one neighboring disk such that a passageway is formed by the neighboring waveform patterns of said neighboring disks,
- at least one disk includes a center opening passing through its height and located at an axial center of said disk, and
- a fluid pathway exists for directing fluid through the center opening in said at least one disk and through the at least one passageway towards said periphery of said disks;
- and
- a plurality of impellers each attaching to one flange of each disk in each pair of disks, and
- wherein each of said waveform patterns includes a plurality of at least one of protrusions and depressions.
A disk-pack turbine comprising:
- a top rotor having a receiving cavity and a central opening passing through its height;
- a bottom rotor having a receiving cavity, said bottom rotor is substantially parallel to said top rotor;
- and
- a pair of disks with a first disk and a second disk, each disk having
- a first surface having a waveform pattern,
- a second surface,
- the first surface of the first disk face towards the first surface of the second disk such that the facing waveform patterns substantially form a passageway between them, the second surface of the first disk is received in the receiving cavity of said top rotor, and the second surface of the second disk is received in the receiving cavity of said bottom rotor,
- a central opening passing through its height from said first surface to said second surface and located at an axial center of said disk, and
- wherein each of said waveform patterns includes a plurality of at least one of protrusions and depressions;
- and
- said bottom rotor and said central openings of said top rotor and said disks define an expansion chamber such that a fluid pathway is present from above said disk-pack turbine through a top of the expansion chamber and the passageway to a periphery of said disks.
