Dialysis system for mixing treatment fluid at time of use

A dialysis system comprising:

• a medical fluid pumping cassette including a first pump chamber and a second pump chamber, the first and second pump chambers each including a pumping diaphragm;
• a first concentrate source in selective fluid communication with the medical fluid pumping cassette, the first concentrate source holding a first dialysis concentrate;
• a second concentrate source in selective fluid communication with the medical fluid pumping cassette, the second concentrate source holding a second dialysis concentrate;
• a pneumatic pump actuator operable with the medical fluid pumping cassette to pneumatically actuate the pumping diaphragms of the first pump chamber and the second pump chamber;
• and
• a processor and memory configured to (i) preform an analysis based upon Boyle's Law to determine a cumulative volume of at least one of the first or second dialysis concentrates pumped from the medical fluid pumping cassette by the pneumatic pump actuator, (ii) compare the cumulative volume to a threshold, and (iii) if the cumulative volume is outside of the threshold, modify a subsequent stroke volume of at least one of the first or second pump chambers actuated by the pneumatic pump actuator in an attempt to cause an updated cumulative volume for the at least one dialysis concentrate to be within the threshold.

A peritoneal dialysis system comprising:

• a medical fluid pumping cassette;
• a first concentrate source in selective fluid communication with the medical fluid pumping cassette, the first concentrate source holding a first peritoneal dialysis concentrate;
• a second concentrate source in selective fluid communication with the medical fluid pumping cassette, the second concentrate source holding a second peritoneal dialysis concentrate;
• a pump actuator operable to cause the medical fluid pumping cassette to pump the first and second concentrates;
• and
• a processor and memory configured to (i) determine a cumulative volume of at least one of the first or second peritoneal dialysis concentrates pumped from the medical fluid pumping cassette by the pump actuator, (ii) compare the cumulative volume to a threshold, and (iii) if the cumulative volume is outside of the threshold, modify a subsequent stroke volume of at least one of the first or second pump chambers actuated by the pump actuator in an attempt to cause an updated cumulative volume for the at least one peritoneal dialysis concentrate to be within the threshold.
