Abstract
Time division duplexed (TDD) Cellular networks can experience interference in receive times from downlink transmissions by aggressor cells after network changes, or from tropospheric ducting. The interference from the aggressor cells can be efficiently mitigated by determining that the victim cell is being affected by such interference, identifying the aggressor cells, and selectively increasing the guard time between the aggressor cells and the victim cell.
Claims19
A method for a time division duplexed (TDD) wireless telecommunications network comprising:
- determining that a victim cell is receiving interference in an uplink window from downlink transmissions of at least one aggressor cell;
- determining an identity of the at least one aggressor cell;
- and
- increasing a guard time between the downlink transmissions of the at least one aggressor cell and a start time of the victim cell's receive window,
- wherein determining the identity of the at least one aggressor cell comprises receiving a sample of the interference from a base station of the victim cell, and determining, from the sample, a reuse code of the at least one aggressor cell.
A wireless telecommunications system comprising a spectrum analysis server, the spectrum analysis server comprising a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium with instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the processor, perform the following steps:
- determining that a victim cell is receiving interference in an uplink window from downlink transmissions of at least one aggressor cell;
- determining an identity of the at least one aggressor cell;
- and
- increasing a guard time between the downlink transmissions of the at least one aggressor cell and a start time of the victim cell's receive window,
- wherein determining the identity of the at least one aggressor cell comprises receiving a sample of the interference from a base station of the victim cell, and determining, from the sample, a reuse code of the at least one aggressor cell.
A method for a time division duplexed (TDD) wireless telecommunications network comprising:
- determining that a victim cell is receiving interference in an uplink window from downlink transmissions of at least one aggressor cell;
- determining that tropospheric ducting is affecting the network;
- retrieving data associated with similar previous tropospheric ducting events;
- determining an identity of the at least one aggressor cell;
- and
- increasing a guard time between the downlink transmissions of the at least one aggressor cell and a start time of the victim cell's receive window based on the retrieved data.
A wireless telecommunications system comprising a spectrum analysis server, the spectrum analysis server comprising a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium with instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the processor, perform the following steps:
- determining that tropospheric ducting is affecting the network;
- retrieving data associated with similar previous tropospheric ducting events;
- determining that a victim cell is receiving interference in an uplink window from downlink transmissions of at least one aggressor cell;
- determining an identity of the at least one aggressor cell;
- and
- increasing a guard time between the downlink transmissions of the at least one aggressor cell and a start time of the victim cell's receive window based on the retrieved data.
