Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and non-transitory recording medium

An information processing method comprising:

• receiving fax data;
• storing, in a memory, the fax data as a stored document in a distribution destination folder corresponding to the fax data, among one or more distribution destination folders created for respective one or more transmission sources;
• detecting a delete operation performed on the stored document;
• in response to the detection of the delete operation, determining a state of the stored document to generate a first determination result;
• when the first determination result indicates that the stored document is in a read state, determining whether a period from a time at which the stored document was read to a time at which the delete operation was performed is within a preset period to generate a second determination result;
• and
• when the first determination result indicates that the stored document is in an unread state, or when the second determination result indicates that the period from the time at which the stored document was read to the time at which the delete operation was performed is within the preset period, copying the stored document to a specific folder and deleting the stored document.

A non-transitory recording medium storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes the processors to perform an information processing method comprising:

• receiving fax data;
• storing, in a memory, the fax data as a stored document in a distribution destination folder corresponding to the fax data among one or more distribution destination folders created for respective one or more transmission sources;
• detecting a delete operation performed on the stored document;
• in response to the detection of the delete operation, determining a state of the stored document to generate a first determination result;
• when the first determination result indicates that the stored document is in a read state, determining whether a period from a time at which the stored document was read to a time at which the delete operation was performed is within a preset period to generate a second determination result;
• and
• when the first determination result indicates that the stored document is in an unread state, or when the second determination result indicates that the period from the time at which the stored document was read to the time at which the delete operation was performed is within the preset period, copying the stored document to a specific folder and deleting the stored document.
