The polymeric annular skirt portion depends from the polymeric top wall portion. The annular skirt portion includes an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container. The polymeric disc has an exterior surface. The polymeric disc is located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner. The polymeric disc includes a plurality of channels formed therein. The plurality of channels assists in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A closure comprising: a polymeric top wall portion; a polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container; a polymeric liner; and a polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure, wherein the polymeric disc is held in place by an internal bead extending from an interior of the polymeric annular skirt portion. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The closure of claim 1, wherein the width of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.1 inch. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The closure of claim 1, wherein the depth of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.025 inch. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The closure of claim 1, wherein the number of the plurality of channels is from about 5 to about 50. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The closure of claim 1, wherein the closure further includes a polymeric tamper-evident feature. ### Claim 6 (depends on 1) The closure of claim 1, wherein the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric disc and the polymeric annular skirt portion include polypropylene, the polymeric liner including thermoplastic elastomer. ### Claim 7 A package comprising: a container having a neck portion defining an opening, the container having an external thread formation on the neck portion; and a closure configured for fitment to the neck portion of the container for closing the opening, the closure comprises a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric liner, a polymeric disc and a polymeric annular skirt portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with the external thread formation of the container, the polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and the external thread formation on the neck portion of the container, wherein the polymeric disc is held in place by an internal bead extending from an interior of the polymeric annular skirt portion. ### Claim 8 (depends on 7) The package of claim 7, wherein the width of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.1 inch. ### Claim 9 (depends on 7) The package of claim 7, wherein the depth of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.025 inch. ### Claim 10 (depends on 7) The package of claim 7, wherein the number of the plurality of channels is from about 5 to about 50. ### Claim 11 (depends on 7) The package of claim 7, wherein the closure further includes a polymeric tamper-evident feature. ### Claim 12 (depends on 7) The package of claim 7, wherein the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric disc and the polymeric annular skirt portion include polypropylene, the polymeric liner including thermoplastic elastomer. ### Claim 13 A closure comprising: a polymeric top wall portion; a polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container; and a polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, wherein the polymeric disc is held in place by an internal bead extending from an interior of the polymeric annular skirt portion. ### Claim 14 A package comprising: a container having a neck portion defining an opening, the container having an external thread formation on the neck portion; and a closure configured for fitment to the neck portion of the container for closing the opening, the closure comprises a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric disc and a polymeric annular skirt portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with the external thread formation of the container, the polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and the external thread formation on the neck portion of the container, wherein the polymeric disc is held in place by an internal bead extending from an interior of the polymeric annular skirt portion. ### Claim 15 A closure comprising: a polymeric top wall portion; a polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container; a polymeric liner; and a polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The closure of claim 15, wherein the width of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.1 inch. ### Claim 17 (depends on 16) The closure of claim 16, wherein the width of the plurality of channels is from about 0.035 to about 0.06 inch. ### Claim 18 (depends on 15) The closure of claim 15, wherein the depth of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.025 inch. ### Claim 19 (depends on 15) The closure of claim 15, wherein the number of the plurality of channels is from about 5 to about 50. ### Claim 20 (depends on 15) The closure of claim 15, wherein the closure further includes a polymeric tamper-evident feature. ### Claim 21 (depends on 15) The closure of claim 15, wherein the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric disc and the polymeric annular skirt portion include polypropylene, the polymeric liner including thermoplastic elastomer. ### Claim 22 A package comprising: a container having a neck portion defining an opening, the container having an external thread formation on the neck portion; and a closure configured for fitment to the neck portion of the container for closing the opening, the closure comprises a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric liner, a polymeric disc and a polymeric annular skirt portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with the external thread formation of the container, the polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and the external thread formation on the neck portion of the container. ### Claim 23 (depends on 22) The package of claim 22, wherein the width of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.1 inch. ### Claim 24 (depends on 22) The package of claim 22, wherein the depth of the plurality of channels is from about 0.005 to about 0.025 inch. ### Claim 25 (depends on 22) The package of claim 22, wherein the number of the plurality of channels is from about 5 to about 50. ### Claim 26 (depends on 22) The package of claim 22, wherein the closure further includes a polymeric tamper-evident feature. ### Claim 27 A closure comprising: a polymeric top wall portion; and a polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located adjacent to the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure. ### Claim 28 A package comprising: a container having a neck portion defining an opening, the container having an external thread formation on the neck portion; and a closure configured for fitment to the neck portion of the container for closing the opening, the closure comprises a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric disc and a polymeric annular skirt portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion depending from the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric annular skirt portion including an internal thread formation for mating engagement with the external thread formation of the container, the polymeric disc having an exterior surface, the polymeric disc being located adjacent to the polymeric top wall portion, the polymeric disc having a radially outward end opposite of its center, the polymeric disc being held in place in a position within the closure at the radially outward end by an internal protrusion of the closure, the polymeric disc including a plurality of channels formed therein, the plurality of channels assisting in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and the external thread formation on the neck portion of the container.
