Abstract
A system and method for providing fertilizer for crop production in an aqueous solution comprising nano-sized fertilizer particles, which are free of any chemical side chain and free any micelle to protect the nano-sized particle from re-agglomeration, suspended therein for improved uptake by the population of the crop.
Claims19
A nanoparticulated fertilizer composition comprising:
- an effective amount of a nanoparticulated iron-rich material for fertilizing a plant as per a first volume of aqueous solution;
- wherein the nanoparticulated iron-rich material is added to an amount of ultrapure water to thereby create the first volume of aqueous solution;
- wherein an effective amount of the nanoparticulated fertilizer composition is less than 50% of a corresponding standard fertilizer composition for a predetermined application rate;
- and
- wherein the fertilizer composition further comprises an effective amount of a nanoparticulated nitrogen-rich material for fertilizing the plant.
