Abstract
A crossing gate mechanism includes a gate mechanism enclosure, electrical components inside the gate mechanism enclosure, and a controller inside the gate mechanism enclosure. The controller is connected to and configured to monitor and/or control the electrical components. The controller includes an operator panel for receiving input from a user. In addition, the controller has a user interface displayed by the operator panel. The controller is operable to present information associated with the electrical components on the user interface.
Claims15
A crossing gate mechanism comprising:
- a gate mechanism enclosure;
- a plurality of electrical components inside the gate mechanism enclosure;
- a controller inside the gate mechanism enclosure, with the controller being operably coupled to the electrical components and configured to monitor and/or control the electrical components,
- said controller comprising an operator panel operable to receive input from a user,
- said controller providing a user interface displayed by the operator panel,
- said controller being operable to present information associated with the electrical components on the user interface;
- external wires located at least substantially outside the gate mechanism enclosure;
- and
- a terminal board inside the gate mechanism enclosure;
- said terminal board electrically coupling the external wires to the electrical components,
- said terminal board being swingably coupled to the gate mechanism enclosure to swing relative thereto between an operative configuration, in which the terminal board at least partially overlies one or more of the electrical components, and an access configuration, in which the terminal board is swung relatively away from the one or more electrical components to facilitate access thereto.
A crossing gate mechanism comprising:
- a gate mechanism enclosure;
- a plurality of electrical components inside the gate mechanism enclosure;
- a controller inside the gate mechanism enclosure, with the controller being operably coupled to the electrical components and configured to monitor and/or control the electrical components,
- said controller comprising an operator panel operable to receive input from a user,
- said controller providing a user interface displayed by the operator panel,
- said controller being operable to present information associated with the electrical components on the user interface,
- said gate mechanism enclosure defining an interior space and comprising a base and a lid together at least in part defining the interior space,
- said lid being movably positionable relative to the base, such that the gate mechanism enclosure is shiftable between a closed configuration, in which the controller is substantially enclosed, and an opened configuration, in which the controller is accessible to the user,
- said base comprising a back panel, a top wall, a bottom wall, laterally opposite sidewalls, and at least one upstanding wall extending outward relative to the back panel,
- one of said laterally opposite sidewalls including a first outer edge relative to the back panel,
- said first outer edge defining a mounting surface,
- said one laterally opposite sidewall including at least one mounting structure,
- said at least one upstanding wall comprising a second outer edge relative to the back panel,
- said second outer edge defining a support surface,
- said at least one upstanding wall including at least one securing structure;
- external wires located at least substantially outside the gate mechanism enclosure;
- and
- a terminal board located within the interior space,
- said terminal board electrically coupling the external wires to the electrical components,
- said terminal board being coupled relative to the first outer edge by the mounting structure for relative swinging movement between a secured configuration, in which the terminal board is secured by the at least one securing structure against the second outer edge and the terminal board overlies a portion of the interior space, and an unsecured configuration, in which the terminal board is swung relatively away from the second outer edge such that said portion of the interior space is accessible.
