Abstract
A method according to one embodiment includes forming at least two write transducers for writing to a magnetic medium, the at least two write transducers being positioned adjacent each other and aligned along a line; and forming a shield structure having shields adjacent at least three sides of each of the at least two write transducers, the shields being formed of a magnetically-permeable material.

A method, comprising:
- forming at least five write transducers for writing to a magnetic medium, the at least five write transducers being positioned adjacent each other and aligned along a line such that each write transducer is positioned to write a unique data track;
- and
- forming a thin film shield structure adjacent the write transducers, the shield structure having shields formed in situ adjacent at least three sides of each of the at least five write transducers, the shields being formed of a magnetically-permeable material.
A method, comprising:
- forming at least two write transducers for writing to a magnetic medium, the at least two write transducers being positioned adjacent each other and aligned along a line;
- and
- forming a thin film shield structure having shields adjacent at least three sides of each of the at least two write transducers, the shields being formed of a magnetically-permeable material,
- wherein the write transducers include write coils, wherein at least one of the shields of the shield structure includes a cutout for one of the write coils,
- wherein the one of the write coils extends into the cutout.

- forming at least two write transducers for writing to a magnetic medium, the at least two write transducers being positioned adjacent each other and aligned along a line;
- and
- forming a shield structure having shields adjacent at least three sides of each of the at least two write transducers, the shields being formed of a magnetically-permeable material,
- wherein upper and lower shields of the shield structure are magnetically connected by a via of magnetic material.
