Vehicle occupancy reminder

A vehicle occupancy reminder device comprising wherein the vehicle occupancy reminder device comprises a steering wheel cover, an alarm fob, a passenger structure, and a plurality of wireless communication links;

• wherein the vehicle occupancy reminder device an alarm system;
• wherein the vehicle occupancy reminder device is configured for use with a vehicle;
• wherein the vehicle is further defined with a steering wheel and a vehicle engine control unit (VECU);
• wherein each of the plurality of wireless communication links forms a wireless communication link between the steering wheel cover and a device selected from the group consisting of the alarm fob, the passenger structure, and the vehicle;
• wherein the steering wheel cover is an electric device;
• wherein the steering wheel cover attaches to the steering wheel;
• wherein the steering wheel cover monitors the alarm fob, the passenger structure, and the vehicle for one or more alarm conditions;
• wherein the steering wheel cover generates an alarm on the occurrence of an alarm condition selected from the group consisting of:
• a) a passenger is detected in the passenger structure after the vehicle has transmitted a VECU ignition off signal to the steering wheel cover;
• b) a passenger is detected in the passenger structure after the vehicle has transmitted a VECU door open signal to the steering wheel cover;
• and, c) a combination of the conditions (a) and (b) has simultaneously occurred.
