Abstract
A server may receive a software update file image and determine that the software update is applicable to a predefined plurality of vehicles within an ATSC broadcast range, based characteristic of those vehicles compared to applicability requirements associated with the software update. Further, the server may instruct an ATSC transmitter to broadcast a file image of the software update, the broadcast including at least one parameter defining the characteristics of vehicles. The processor is also configured to receive feedback from one or more of the plurality of vehicles receiving the file image and responsive to the feedback, instruct adjustment of a broadcast characteristic to increase receipt of the broadcast file image among the plurality of vehicles.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- receive a software update file image;
- determine that the software update is applicable to a predefined plurality of vehicles within an ATSC broadcast range, based on a characteristic of those vehicles compared to applicability requirements associated with the software update;
- responsive to determining that the software update is applicable to the predefined plurality of vehicles, instruct an ATSC transmitter to broadcast data including a file image of the software update and at least one parameter, defining the applicability requirements as vehicle characteristics, the parameter designating which vehicles having the characteristics should accept and process the data;
- receive feedback from one or more of the plurality of vehicles accepting the data and receiving the file image;
- and responsive to the feedback, instruct adjustment of a broadcast characteristic to increase receipt of the broadcast file image among the plurality of vehicles.
A method comprising:
- receiving a software update file image;
- determining that the software update is applicable to a predefined plurality of vehicles within an ATSC broadcast range, based on a characteristic of those vehicles compared to applicability requirements associated with the software update;
- responsive to determining that the software update is applicable to the predefined plurality of vehicles, instructing an ATSC transmitter to broadcast data including a file image of the software update and at least one parameter, defining the applicability requirements as vehicle characteristics, the parameter designating which vehicles having the characteristics should accept and process the data;
- receiving feedback from one or more of the plurality of vehicles accepting the data and receiving the file image;
- and responsive to the feedback, instructing adjustment of a broadcast characteristic to increase receipt of the broadcast file image among the plurality of vehicles.
A non-transitory storage medium, storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
- receiving a software update file image;
- determining that the software update is applicable to a predefined plurality of vehicles within an ATSC broadcast range, based on a characteristic of those vehicles compared to applicability requirements associated with the software update;
- responsive to determining that the software update is applicable to the predefined plurality of vehicles, instructing an ATSC transmitter to broadcast data including a file image of the software update and at least one parameter, defining the applicability requirements as vehicle characteristics, the parameter designating which vehicles having the characteristics should accept and process the data;
- receiving feedback from one or more of the plurality of vehicles accepting the data and receiving the file image;
- and responsive to the feedback, instructing adjustment of a broadcast characteristic to increase receipt of the broadcast file image among the plurality of vehicles.
