Systems and methods for the production of malonate in recombinant host cells.
Claims11
A method of producing malonic acid or a salt thereof comprising culturing a recombinant Pichia kudriavzevii host cell that comprises:
- a heterologous malonyl-CoA hydrolase having at least 75% identity with SEQ ID NO:
- 9, and optionally
- a heterologous Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc) aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALD) selected from Sc ALD 2 to 6
- under conditions that result in the production of malonic acid or the salt thereof.
