Abstract
A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of panel pads, a connection board including a plurality of connection lines, and a circuit board including a plurality of board pads. The plurality of connection lines are spaced apart from each other. Each of a connection line among the plurality of connection lines includes: a first end portion at which the connection line is connected to the display panel, the first end portion being in direct contact with a panel pad, and a second end portion opposite to the first end portion and at which the connection line is connected to the circuit board, the second end portion being in contact with a board pad.
Claims19
A display device comprising:
- a display panel comprising a panel pad through which a driving signal is provided to the display panel from outside thereof;
- a circuit board comprising a first board pad which provide the driving signal;
- and
- a connection board comprising a connection line through which the driving signal is transmitted to the display panel,
- wherein the connection line comprises:
- a first end portion comprising a first material and being in direct contact with the panel pad along a thickness direction, and
- a second end portion comprising a second material different from the first material and being in direct contact with the first board pad,
- wherein the first end portion has a first length in an extension direction crossing the thickness direction and the second end portion has a second length different from the first length in the extension direction.
A method of manufacturing a display device, the method comprising:
- providing a display panel comprising a panel pad through which a driving signal is provided to the display panel from outside thereof;
- providing a connection board facing the panel pad of the display panel along a thickness direction, the connection board comprising a connection line which faces the panel pad of the display panel and through which the driving signal is transmitted from the connection board to the panel pad of the display panel;
- providing a direct bond between the panel pad and a first end portion of the connection line which face and contact each other along the thickness direction by applying ultrasonic vibration to the panel pad and the connection line;
- and
- providing a bond between a second end portion of the connection line and a first board pad of a circuit board from which the driving si nal is provided to the connection board,
- wherein
- the first end portion comprises a first material and the second end portion comprises a second material different from the first material, and
- the first end portion has a first length in an extension direction crossing the thickness direction and the second end portion has a second length different from a the first length in the extension direction.
