Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for receiving user input, the user input indicating a user command to display a waveform strip screen, in response to the user input, processing patient-specific data to provide waveform data, and displaying the waveform strip screen on the mobile device, the waveform strip screen displaying one or more waveform strips, each waveform strip of the one or more waveform strips being based on the waveform data and graphically depicting a physical waveform strip.
Claims16
A computer-implemented method for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient-specific data, the method being executed using one or more processors and comprising:
- receiving, by the one or more processors, a first user input, the first user input indicating a user command to display a waveform strip screen;
- processing, the one or more processors, the first user input to provide a request for patient data and to determine a type of a computing device associated with the request, data identifiers of the patient data, and an identifier associated with a user of the computing device;
- transmitting, by the one or more processors to a data management system, the request, the data identifiers and the identifier associated with the user of the computing device, the data management system comprising a data cache module configured to selectively operate in a pass-through mode and a reposed mode to improve performance of retrieval of the patient data, the pass-through mode enabling real-time mode retrieval of the patient data from a facility system and passing the patient data onward for responding to the first user input and the reposed mode enabling retrieval of patient data copies temporary stored by the data cache module;
- receiving, by the one or more processors from the data management system, the patient data retrieved by the data management system from a facility system based on a user-facility index that maps the identifier associated with the user of the computing device to the facility system that the user is associated with as a healthcare provider, the patient data comprising one or more physiological data that varies over time;
- processing, by the one or more processors, the one or more physiological data to provide one or more waveform data formatted for display on the mobile device based on the type of the mobile device associated with the request;
- displaying the waveform strip screen on the mobile device, the waveform strip screen comprising one or more waveform strips, wherein each waveform strip of the one or more waveform strips:
- is based on one of the one or more waveform data,
- graphically mimics a real-world, physical waveform strip that is standardly used by healthcare providers, and
- comprises a plurality of strip segments that appear to be folded, wherein at least one of the plurality of strip segments is fully displayed on top of at least another one of the plurality of strip segments that is partially displayed;
- receiving, by the one or more processors, a second user input to the one or more waveform strips;
- in response to the second user input, generating, by the one or more processors, an animated view of the one or more waveform strips;
- and
- displaying the animated view of the one or more waveform strips on the mobile device to scroll through the plurality of strip segments by fully displaying portions of the one or more waveform strips that were partially displayed before scrolling.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage device coupled to one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient data, the operations comprising:
- receiving a first user input, the first user input indicating a user command to display a waveform strip screen;
- processing the first user input to provide a request for patient data and to determine a type of a computing device associated with the request, data identifiers of the patient data, and an identifier associated with a user of the computing device;
- transmitting, to a data management system, the request, the data identifiers, and the identifier associated with the user of the computing device, the data management system comprising a data cache module configured to selectively operate in a pass-through mode and a reposed mode to improve performance of retrieval of the patient data, the pass-through mode enabling real-time mode retrieval of the patient data from a facility system and passing the patient data onward for responding to the first user input and the reposed mode enabling retrieval of patient data copies temporary stored by the data cache module;
- receiving, from the data management system, the patient data retrieved by the data management system from a facility system based on a user-facility index that maps the identifier associated with the user of the computing device to the facility system that the user is associated with as a healthcare provider, the patient data comprising one or more physiological data that varies over time;
- processing the one or more physiological data to provide one or more waveform data formatted for display on the mobile device based on the type of the mobile device associated with the request;
- displaying the waveform strip screen on the mobile device, the waveform strip screen comprising one or more waveform strips, wherein each waveform strip of the one or more waveform strips:
- is based on one of the one or more waveform data,
- graphically mimics a real-world, physical waveform strip that is standardly used by healthcare providers, and
- comprises a plurality of strip segments that appear to be folded, wherein at least one of the plurality of strip segments is fully displayed on top of at least another one of the plurality of strip segments that is partially displayed;
- receiving a second user input to the one or more waveform strips;
- in response to the second user input, generating an animated view of the one or more waveform strips;
- and
- displaying the animated view of the one or more waveform strips on the mobile device to scroll through the plurality of strip segments by fully displaying portions of the one or more waveform strips that were partially displayed before scrolling.
A system, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- a computer-readable storage medium in communication with the one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations for providing a user of a mobile device access to patient data, the operations comprising:
- receiving a first user input, the first user input indicating a user command to display a waveform strip screen;
- processing the first user input to provide a request for patient data and to determine a type of a computing device associated with the request, data identifiers of the patient data, and an identifier associated with a user of the computing device;
- transmitting, to a data management system, the request, the data identifiers, and the identifier associated with the user of the computing device, the data management system comprising a data cache module configured to selectively operate in a pass-through mode and a reposed mode to improve performance of retrieval of the patient data, the pass-through mode enabling real-time mode retrieval of the patient data from a facility system and passing the patient data onward for responding to the first user input and the reposed mode enabling retrieval of patient data copies temporary stored by the data cache module;
- receiving, from the data management system, the patient data retrieved by the data management system from a facility system based on a user-facility index that maps the identifier associated with the user of the computing device to the facility system that the user is associated with as a healthcare provider, the patient data comprising one or more physiological data that varies over time;
- processing the one or more physiological data to provide one or more waveform data formatted for display on the mobile device based on the type of the mobile device associated with the request;
- displaying the waveform strip screen on the mobile device, the waveform strip screen comprising one or more waveform strips, wherein each waveform strip of the one or more waveform strips:
- is based on one of the one or more waveform data,
