Abstract
Techniques for resolving ambiguous recipient users and/or recipient devices are described. A system receives input data from a device. The system may determine the input data corresponds to a spoken utterance requesting a call be established. When the system determines the recipient user and/or the recipient device is ambiguous, the system determines communications pattern data associated with the originating device. The system also determines context data. Based on the communications pattern data and the context data, the system may resolve an identity of the recipient user and/or resolve an identity of the recipient device. The system may also use communications pattern data and context data to determine when a device is likely to receive a communication and output content indicating same to a user.
Claims18
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, from a first device, first audio data corresponding to a first utterance;
- performing speech processing on the first audio data to determine the first utterance corresponds to a first request to establish a first two-way communication session and indicates a first recipient name;
- determining the first recipient name corresponds to a first user name associated with a first user profile and a second user name associated with a second user profile;
- determining communications history data associated with the first device, the communications history data corresponding to at least one previous two-way communication session involving the first device and another device;
- determining, based at least in part on the communications history data, that the first two-way communication session is to be performed using the first user profile instead of the second user profile;
- determining a second device associated with the first user profile;
- and
- causing the first two-way communication session to be established with the first device and the second device.
A system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one memory including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to:
- receive, from a first device, first audio data corresponding to a first utterance;
- perform speech processing on the first audio data to determine the first utterance corresponds to a first recipient name and a first request to establish a first two-way communication session;
- determine a first user profile associated with the first recipient name;
- determine the first user profile indicates a second device and a third device;
- determine communications history data associated with the first device, the communications history data corresponding to previous communications involving the first device;
- determine, based at least in part on the communications history data, that the first two-way communication session is to be performed using the second device instead of the third device;
- determine, based at least in part on the communications history data, that the first device is likely to receive at least one of a first incoming two-way communication request or a first incoming message;
- generate first data representing the first device is likely to receive at least one of the first incoming two-way communication request or the first incoming message;
- and
- cause the first device to output the first data prior to causing the first two-way communication session to be established with the first device and the second device.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, from a first device, first audio data corresponding to a first utterance;
- performing speech processing on the first audio data to determine the first utterance corresponds to a first recipient name and a first request to establish a first two-way communication session;
- determining a first user profile associated with the first recipient name;
- determining the first user profile indicates a second device;
- determining communications history data associated with the first device, the communications history data corresponding to previous communications involving the first device;
- determining, based at least in part on the communications history data, that the first device is likely to receive at least one of a first incoming two-way communication request or a first incoming message while the first two-way communication session is being performed;
- generating first data representing the first device is likely to receive at least one of the first incoming two-way communication request or the first incoming message while the first two-way communication session is being performed;
- causing the first device to output the first data;
- and
- causing, after outputting the first data, the first two-way communication session to be established with the first device and the second device.
