Communication devices for guards of controlled environments

A monitoring server for monitoring a status of a user in a controlled environment, the monitoring server comprising:

• a transceiver configured to receive first sensor data from a first sensor associated with a user device of the user, second sensor data from a second sensor located within the controlled environment, and stored information from a database;
• and
• one or more processors configured to:
• receive the first sensor data and the second sensor data from the transceiver;
• receive the stored information from the database, the stored information relating to at least one of the user or a route to be taken by the user;
• identify one of a normal condition or an abnormal condition of the user based on the first sensor data, the second sensor data, and the stored information.

A method for monitoring a user in a controlled environment, comprising:

• receiving first sensor data from a first sensor associated with a user device;
• receiving second sensor data from a plurality of second sensors located throughout the controlled environment;
• receiving stored information from a database that stored information relating to at least one of the user or a route to be taken by the user;
• and
• identifying one of a normal condition or an abnormal condition of the user based on the first sensor data, the second sensor data, and the stored information.
