Intelligent routing code for improved product distribution

A system, comprising:

• a processor and logic executable by the processor, the logic being configured to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
• calculating an actual Intelligent Routing (IR) code for a good, the actual IR code being a single metric based on measurements from sensors coupled to the good for past and present conditions of the good, expected future conditions of the good, and a quantified ripening acceleration impact based on the conditions, wherein sensor data which is inaccessible is provided by proxy sensor data derived at least in part from a second sensor coupled to another good in proximity to the good,
• wherein the actual IR code represents a first expiration date of the good being monitored by the sensors corresponding to a count of days;
• updating the actual IR code for the good based on the sensor data associated with the good;
• in response to sensor data from the sensor coupled the good being inaccessible and proxy sensor data being inaccessible, updating the actual IR code for the good based on anticipated sensor data, wherein the anticipated sensor data is based on routine temperature changes associated with historical shipments of substantially similar goods;
• receiving and storing a target IR code for each of at least two receivers, wherein each target IR code is a single metric, wherein each target IR code is a single metric of a same type as the single metric of the actual IR code, wherein each target IR code of the receiver represents a combination of a delivery date requirement plus a requested minimum remaining shelf life for the associated receiver, thereby representing a second expiration date for the good for the associated receiver;
• wherein the actual IR code is a single string of alphanumeric characters, wherein each target IR code is a single string of alphanumeric characters;
• comparing the actual IR code for the good to the target IR codes for each of the at least two receivers;
• based on the comparison of the actual IR code for the good to the target IR codes for each of the at least two receivers, determining which receiver of the at least two receivers will receive the good;
• and
• outputting a result of the determination.

A computer-implemented method for routing goods to a destination, the method comprising:

• calculating an actual Intelligent Routing (IR) code for each good of a plurality of goods of a same type, by a computer, the actual IR code being a single metric based on measurements from sensors coupled to the goods for past and present conditions of the goods, expected future conditions of the goods, and a quantified ripening acceleration impact based on the conditions, wherein sensor data which is inaccessible is provided by proxy sensor data derived at least in part from a second sensor coupled to other goods in proximity to the good;
• storing, by the computer, the actual IR codes for the goods;
• updating, by the computer, the actual IR codes for the goods based on the sensor data associated with the respective good;
• in response to sensor data from the sensor coupled to one of the goods being inaccessible and proxy sensor data being inaccessible, updating, by the computer, the actual IR code for the one of the goods based on anticipated sensor data, wherein the anticipated sensor data is based on routine temperature changes associated with historical shipments of substantially similar goods;
• comparing, by the computer, the actual IR code with a target IR code of a receiver to determine whether the goods are non-compliant with requirements of the receiver;
• and
• outputting, by the computer, a notification of the non-compliance of the goods.
