Abstract
Systems, devices, and methods for monitoring items in a defined physical area can include a primary camera configured to detect a region of interest within a defined physical area and the coordinates of the region of interest in the defined physical area. A plurality of secondary cameras can positioned throughout a defined physical area. One of the secondary cameras can be selected to capture an image of a region of interest based on the coordinates of the region of interest.
Claims24
A system for tracking an item in a distribution network, the system comprising:
- a tracking database;
- a first camera configured to capture first image data indicative of movement of an item within a defined physical area, the item comprising a region of interest;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- receive the first image data from the first camera;
- determine a second camera of a plurality of second cameras to capture second image data indicative of further movement of the item within the defined physical area based on the first image data received from the first camera;
- cause the second camera of the plurality of second cameras to capture the second image data;
- process one or both of the first image data and the second image data to read a code located within the region of interest and identify a location of the item within the defined physical area;
- and
- update the tracking database based on the code and the identified location of the item within the defined physical area.
A method for tracking an item in a distribution network, the method comprising:
- capturing first image data indicative of movement of an item within a defined physical area by a first camera, the item comprising a region of interest;
- determining a second camera of a plurality of second cameras to capture second image data indicative of further movement of the item within the defined physical area based on the first image data;
- capturing the second image data by the second camera;
- processing one or both of the first image data and the second image data to read a code located within the region of interest and identify a location of the item within the defined physical area;
- and
- updating a tracking database based on the code and the identified location of the item within the defined physical area.
A system for tracking an item in a distribution network, the system comprising:
- a tracking database;
- a first camera of a plurality of cameras, the first camera configured to capture first image data indicative of movement of an item within a defined physical area, the item comprising a region of interest;
- and
- one or more processors configured to:
- receive the first image data from the first camera;
- determine a second camera of the plurality of cameras to capture second image data indicative of further movement of the item within the defined physical area based on the first image data received from the first camera;
- cause the second camera of the plurality of cameras to capture the second image data;
- process one or both of the first image data and the second image data to read a code located within the region of interest and identify a location of the item within the defined physical area;
- and
- update the tracking database based on the code and the identified location of the item within the defined physical area;
- wherein one or more cameras of the plurality of cameras are configured to capture an image of a container comprising a second region of interest, and wherein the one or more processors are configured to:
- process the captured image of the container to read a second code located within the second region of interest;
- and
- determine an association between the item and the container based on the read code and the read second code.
A method for tracking an item in a distribution network, the method comprising:
- capturing first image data indicative of movement of an item within a defined physical area by a first camera of a plurality of cameras, the item comprising a region of interest;
- determining a second camera of the plurality of cameras to capture second image data indicative of further movement of the item within the defined physical area based on the first image data;
- capturing the second image data by the second camera;
- processing one or both of the first image data and the second image data to read a code located within the region of interest and identify a location of the item within the defined physical area;
- updating a tracking database based on the code and the identified location of the item within the defined physical area;
- capturing an image of a container comprising a second region of interest by one or more of the plurality of cameras;
- processing the captured image of the container to read a second code located within the second region of interest;
- and
- determining an association between the item and the container based on the read code and the read second code.
