Abstract
Installation of electrical systems can require a large amount of branch circuits that can lead to a labeling degeneracy that can require a customized on-site tagging step to identify each conductor to be installed, or cause technicians to install additional circuit housing runs to circumvent the degeneracy. Circuit grouping systems and methods, and circuit installation methods, are disclosed herein that prevent such inefficiencies.
Claims20
A circuit grouping system comprising a plurality of conductor sets, each conductor set comprising a plurality of conductors, wherein:
- each of the plurality of conductors comprises a conductor identification unique with respect to every other conductor in the circuit grouping system, the conductor identification comprising:
- a first coded identifier correlated to a function of the conductor, wherein the function of the conductor is either a load conductor or a neutral conductor;
- a second coded identifier comprising a chromatic phase indicator and an alphanumeric phase indicator, and wherein the second coded identifier is correlated to a phase of the conductor;
- and
- a third coded identifier comprising a chromatic set indicator and an alphanumeric set indicator, wherein the third coded identifier is correlated to a set of the conductor.
A circuit grouping system comprising:
- at least four conductor sets, each comprising a plurality of conductor pairs and an optional ground conductor;
- wherein:
- three of the conductor sets comprise conductor pairs packaged in a conductor barrel and configured to be pulled from the conductor barrel as a group;
- one of the plurality of conductor sets comprises a plurality of conductor pairs packaged in a coiled reel independent with respect to conductor pairs within the fourth conductor set;
- and
- each conductor within the circuit grouping system comprises a conductor identification having a unique combination of:
- a first coded identifier correlated to a function of the conductor;
- a second coded identifier correlated to a phase of the conductor;
- and
- a third coded identifier correlated to a set of the conductor.
