Abstract
A system can include a processor; memory operatively coupled to the processor; a display operatively coupled to the processor; a touch sensitive surface that comprises a slider region; and assignment circuitry that assigns one of a plurality of assignable system functions to the slider region.

A system comprising:
- a processor;
- memory operatively coupled to the processor;
- a display housing that comprises a display operatively coupled to the processor;
- audio circuitry operatively coupled to the processor;
- a keyboard housing that comprises a keyboard and a touch sensitive surface that comprises a menu region and a slider region, wherein the menu region comprises a display brightness item and an audio volume item;
- and
- assignment circuitry that assigns one of a plurality of assignable system functions to the slider region responsive to selection of one of the items, wherein the plurality of assignable system functions comprise a display system brightness function for brightness of the display and an audio system volume function for volume of the audio circuitry.
