Abstract
An optical method of measurement and an optical apparatus for determining the spatial position of at least one luminous object on a sample. A sequence of at least two compact luminous distributions of different topological families is projected onto the sample, and light re-emitted by the at least one luminous object is detected. At least one optical image is generated for each luminous distribution on the basis of the light detected. The optical images are analyzed to obtain spatiotemporal information regarding the light re-emitted by the at least one luminous object, or location of the at least one luminous object.
Claims7
A method of optical measurement for determining the spatial position of at least one luminous object in a sample, the method comprising:
- a. creating a set of light distributions in parallel;
- b. modifying each one of the light distributions in the set of parallel light distributions, using an optical module, to create a first set of compact luminous distributions;
- c. projecting the first set of compact luminous distributions onto the sample in parallel, onto a plurality of discrete points on the sample;
- d. modifying the parallel light distributions, using the optical module to create a second set of compact luminous distributions;
- e. projecting, the second set of luminous distributions, in parallel, onto the sample on the same points on the sample as those illuminated by the first set of compact luminous distributions;
- wherein the first and second compact luminous distributions are of different topological families;
- f. detecting light re-emitted by the at least one luminous object and generating from the detected light a first image of the at least one luminous object as illuminated by the first set of compact luminous distributions and a second image of the at least one luminous object as illuminated by the second set of compact luminous distributions;
- and
- g. algorithmically analyzing the first and second images to obtain spatial position information of the at least one luminous object.
