The component can include a component body defining a surface thermally confronting the cooking chamber. In addition, the component can also include a multi-layered composite on the surface.

A cooking appliance, comprising:
- a cabinet;
- a cooking chamber located within the cabinet;
- a door coupled to the cabinet and selectively providing access to the cooking chamber;
- a component body defining a surface thermally confronting the cooking chamber;
- and
- a composite on the surface of the component body, with the composite comprising a first layer comprising silver nanowires and a second layer comprising porous alumina.
