Abstract
The invention relates to biotechnology and provides novel recombinant DNA molecules and engineered proteins for conferring tolerance to protoporphyrinogen oxidase-inhibitor herbicides. The invention also provides herbicide tolerant transgenic plants, seeds, cells, and plant parts containing the recombinant DNA molecules, as well as methods of using the same.
Claims11
A recombinant polypeptide that comprises an amino acid sequence with at least 95% sequence identity to the full length of an amino acid sequence chosen from SEQ ID NO:1, SEQ ID NO:11, SEQ ID NO:18, and SEQ ID NO:19, wherein the polypeptide has herbicide-insensitive protoporphyrinogen oxidase activity, and wherein the polypeptide further comprises a targeting peptide.
