Abstract
A system includes a computer including a processor programmed to identify, based on data from first sensors included in a first vehicle, that a second vehicle proximate to a route of the first vehicle is stationary. The processor is further programmed to receive, from second sensors included in the first vehicle, transient velocity data from the second vehicle; and determine an operating condition of the second vehicle based on the transient velocity data.

A system comprising a computer including a processor and a memory, the memory including instructions such that the processor is programmed to:
- identify, based on data from first sensors included in a first vehicle, that a second vehicle proximate to a route of the first vehicle is stationary such that wheels of the second vehicle are not moving with respect to a surface on which the wheels of the second vehicle are resting;
- receive, from second sensors included in the first vehicle, transient velocity data from the second vehicle, wherein the transient velocity data includes a measurement of movement of at least a portion of the second vehicle with respect to at least one of a horizontal or a vertical axis defined with respect to the second vehicle;
- determine an operating condition of the second vehicle based on the transient velocity data;
- and
- operate the first vehicle according to a travel path based at least in part on the operating condition of the second vehicle.
A method comprising:
- identifying, based on data from first sensors included in a first vehicle, that a second vehicle proximate to a route of the first vehicle is stationary such that wheels of the second vehicle are not moving with respect to a surface on which the wheels of the second vehicle are resting;
- receiving, from second sensors included in the first vehicle, transient velocity data from the second vehicle, wherein the transient velocity data includes a measurement of movement of at least a portion of the second vehicle with respect to at least one of a horizontal or a vertical axis defined with respect to the second vehicle;
- determining an operating condition of the second vehicle based on the transient velocity data;
- and
- operating the first vehicle according to a travel path based at least in part on the operating condition of the second vehicle.
