Abstract
The present invention relates to a light emitting device comprising a red-emitting Eu3+ material and green emitting Ce3+ material which are matched so that the resulting white light has an increased lumen equivalent of radiation for a given color rendering index than with the prior art.
Claims15
A converter system for a light emitting device, comprising:
- a first material doped with Ce3+;
- and
- a second material doped with Eu3+ and emitting in the red spectral range so that the converter system shows an emission spectrum with a peak between ≥605 to ≤630 nm,
- wherein the ratio of the Eu3+ peak to the maximum peak in the green and/or yellow spectral range is ≥2.
