Abstract
Configuring motion detection by a security device. The security device includes a camera configured to capture images of an environment in front of the security device and a motion sensor for detecting motion within the environment. The system also includes a server and a client device that are interconnected by a network. An AI learning module interacts with a user of the client device to capture an image of the user within the environment in front of the security device, and determines parameters for the motion sensor based upon analysis of the image to determine a location of an exempt area relative to the security device. The motion detector is configured based upon the determined parameters.
Claims17
A method for configuring motion detection of a security device having a motion detector and a camera, the method comprising:
- controlling the camera to capture an image including a person standing a predefined distance in front of the security device;
- processing an image captured by the camera to isolate a person depicted in the image;
- determining a pixel-distance relationship for the image based on the location of the person in the image and a predefined distance value corresponding to a distance that the person is standing away from the security device that captured the image;
- processing the image to identify an exempt area for exclusion from motion detection;
- processing the image to determine a distance and a direction of the exempt area from the security device;
- determining one or both of an operational state and a sensitivity setting for each of a plurality of motion detection zones of the motion detector based on the distance and the direction;
- and
- configuring the motion detector based on one or both of the operational state and the sensitivity setting for each of the motion detection zones.
