Abstract
A station device in a biometric pre-identification system uses identity to perform one or more actions. Identities are determined (such as via a backend) using biometric information. A biometric pre-identification device obtains biometric information and/or a digital representation thereof from a person approaching the station device. The biometric pre-identification device transmits such to the station device, facilitating the station to begin and/or perform various actions. The station device begins or performs the actions using the identity determined based on the biometric information before the person arrives at the station device.
Claims20
A system for biometric pre-identification, comprising:
- a biometric pre-identification device configured to obtain a first digital representation of a biometric for a person;
- and
- a station device configured to:
- receive a reduced gallery of a main gallery, the main gallery including biometric data for multiple people, generated based on an initial identification performed using the first digital representation of the biometric for the person, prior to arrival of the person at the station device;
- obtain a second digital representation of a biometric for the person upon the arrival of the person at the station device, the first digital representation of the biometric for the person being associated with a different body part of the person than the second digital representation of the biometric for the person;
- and
- determine an identity for the person after the arrival of the person at the station device by comparing the second digital representation of the biometric for the person to at least a portion of the reduced gallery.
A system for biometric pre-identification, comprising:
- a biometric pre-identification device configured to obtain a first digital representation of a biometric for a person;
- and
- a station device configured to:
- receive information for a reduced gallery of a main gallery, the main gallery including biometric data for multiple people, generated using the first digital representation of the biometric for the person, prior to arrival of the person at the station device;
- obtain a second digital representation of a biometric for the person upon the arrival of the person at the station device;
- and
- determine an identity for the person after the arrival of the person at the station device by comparing the second digital representation of the biometric for the person to at least a portion of the reduced gallery.
A system for biometric pre-identification, comprising:
- a biometric pre-identification device configured to obtain data for a person;
- and
- a station device configured to:
- receive information for a reduced gallery derived from a main gallery, the main gallery including biometric data for multiple people, based on an initial identification performed using the data for the person, prior to arrival of the person at the station device;
- obtain a digital representation of a biometric for the person upon the arrival of the person at the station device;
- and
- determine an identity for the person after the arrival of the person at the station device by comparing the digital representation of the biometric for the person to at least a portion of the reduced gallery.
