Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, including: receiving, by a processing system including a processor, a request to play content; querying, by the processing system, for matches between the content and a user library; receiving, by the processing system, recommendations for alternate content of the user library and associated cue points in the content; and presenting, by the processing system, portions of the content and presenting other portions of the content replaced with the alternate content at the associated cue points. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a processing system including a processor, a request to play content;
- determining, by the processing system, a biometric measurement of a user;
- providing, by the processing system, the biometric measurement to a content server;
- requesting, by the processing system, a recommendation for alternate content based on the biometric measurement of the user from the content server, wherein the content server ranks a group of alternate content according to popularity based on a plurality of social media connections of the user, wherein the content server identifies a first alternate content from the group of alternate content according to the biometric measurement and the popularity of the first alternate content based on the plurality of social media connections of the user;
- receiving, by the processing system, the recommendation for the first alternate content from a user library stored on the content server and associated cue points in the content;
- obtaining, by the processing system, the first alternate content from the content server;
- and
- presenting, by the processing system, portions of the content and presenting the first alternate content that replaces other portions of the content at the associated cue points.
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- receiving a request to play content;
- determining a biometric measurement of a user;
- providing the biometric measurement to a content server;
- requesting a recommendation for alternate content based on the biometric measurement of the user from the content server, wherein the content server ranks a group of alternate content according to popularity based on a plurality of social media connections of the user, wherein the content server identifies a first alternate content from the group of alternate content according to the biometric measurement and the popularity of the first alternate content based on the plurality of social media connections of the user;
- receiving the recommendation for the first alternate content from a user library stored on the content server and associated cue points in the content;
- obtaining the first alternate content from the content server;
- and
- presenting portions of the content and presenting other portions of the content mixed with the first alternate content at the associated cue points.
A non-transitory, machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- requesting to play content;
- determining a biometric measurement of a user;
- providing the biometric measurement to a content server;
- requesting a recommendation for alternate content based on the biometric measurement of the user from the content server, wherein the content server ranks a group of alternate content according to popularity based on a plurality of social media connections of the user, wherein the content server identifies a first alternate content from the group of alternate content according to the biometric measurement and the popularity of the first alternate content based on the plurality of social media connections of the user;
- receiving the recommendation for the first alternate content from a user library stored on the content server and associated cue points in the content;
- obtaining the first alternate content from the content server;
- and
- presenting portions of the content and presenting other portions of the content mixed with the first alternate content at the associated cue points.
