Systems, methods and devices for remote power management and discovery

A method of a power monitoring equipment, the method comprising:

• providing power to devices electrically coupled to a set of configurable power connectors;
• sampling, using a set of sensors, an energy consumption characteristic of the devices electrically coupled to the set of configurable power connectors;
• and
• performing one or more self-diagnostic tests to detect problems with components of the set of configurable power connectors and components of the set of sensors,
• when a problem is detected in an affected component:
• disabling the affected component, and
• bypassing the affected component such that unaffected components can continue to be used, wherein the set of configurable power connectors comprise one or more relays, wherein the self-diagnostic tests assess a response of the one or more relays, and wherein an affected relay is disabled and bypassed.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, the computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to:

• provide power to devices electrically coupled to a set of configurable power connectors;
• sample, using a set of sensors, an energy consumption characteristic of the devices electrically coupled to the set of configurable power connectors;
• and
• perform one or more self-diagnostic tests to detect problems with components of the set of configurable power connectors and components of the set of sensors, and when a problem is detected in an affected component:
• disable the affected component, and
• bypass the affected component such that unaffected components can continue to be used, wherein the set of configurable power connectors comprise one or more relays, wherein the self-diagnostic tests assess a response of the one or more relays, and wherein an affected relay is disabled and bypassed.
