HVAC self-balancing components and controls

A controller device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
• interfacing with a flow device, comprising a damper, configured to modify a supply flow of a fluid to zones that represent controlled environments;
• interfacing with a group of zone devices, comprising respective dampers, configured to receive the supply flow of the fluid and to redirect an amount of the supply flow to a zone of the zones to satisfy a set point, wherein a respective zone device of the group is configured to measure a velocity of the flow consistent with a turndown ratio that is at least 4:1, characterized as a ratio of a maximum measurable velocity of the supply flow being at least four times more than a minimum measurable velocity of the supply flow;
• receiving flow data indicative of a velocity of the supply flow measured by the respective zone device;
• determining that the flow data is sufficiently accurate to balance the supply flow with set point demands of the zones, comprising determining that the flow data is measured to an accuracy within a fixed range selected between +/−1% and +/−40% when the minimum measurable velocity is less than 300 feet per minute (fpm);
• and
• balancing the supply flow comprising instructing the flow device to adjust the supply flow based on the flow data.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a device, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:

• interfacing with an upstream device, comprising a damper, configured to control a flow of a fluid;
• interfacing with a group of downstream devices, comprising respective dampers, configured to receive the flow, wherein the upstream device is upstream of the group of downstream devices relative to a flow direction of the flow, wherein a respective downstream device of the group is configured to redirect, based on a position of one of the respective dampers, an amount of the flow, and wherein the amount is is determined to satisfy a set point of a zone;
• and
• performing a balancing procedure determined to balance a supply of the flow with an aggregate demand for the flow by the group of downstream devices, wherein the balancing procedure comprises at least:
• in response to determining a first condition, that no damper of any downstream device of the group is open to at least a threshold setting, is satisfied, instructing the upstream device to effectuate a decrease in a pressure of the flow to the downstream devices.
