Abstract
A mixing valve that includes a housing having a first outlet, a second outlet, and a mixing chamber; a first flow control valve for controlling flow through the first outlet to the mixing chamber; and a second flow control valve for controlling flow through the second outlet to the mixing chamber; wherein the housing has a length dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension, and the largest of these dimensions is no more than approximately 65 millimeters.
Claims22
A mixing valve comprising:
- a housing having a first outlet, a second outlet, and a mixing chamber, at least a portion of the mixing chamber being disposed between the first outlet and the second outlet;
- a first flow control valve for controlling flow through the first outlet to the mixing chamber;
- and
- a second flow control valve for controlling flow through the second outlet to the mixing chamber, the second flow control valve being arranged in parallel with the first flow control valve;
- wherein the housing has a length dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension, and the largest of these dimensions is no more than approximately 65 millimeters;
- and
- wherein the mixing valve has a flow coefficient of approximately 2.5 when both the first and second flow control valves are in a mid-open position.
A mixing valve for faucets and shower heads, the mixing valve comprising:
- a housing having a mixing chamber, a cold water inlet chamber having two outlets into the mixing chamber, and a hot water inlet chamber having two outlets into the mixing chamber, wherein the housing has a length dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension, and the largest of these dimensions is no more than approximately 65 millimeters;
- a cold water flow control valve having two valve members that each engage one of the two outlets of the cold water inlet chamber in a closed position of the cold water flow control valve;
- and
- a hot water flow control valve having two valve members that each engage one the two outlets of the hot water inlet chamber in a closed position of the hot water flow control valve,
- wherein the housing is located in a hand shower that is configured to detachably dock to a docking member, the hand shower comprising a stem configured as a handle of the hand shower and a spray head coupled to the stem and including the outlet for discharging water.
A mixing valve for faucets and shower heads, the mixing valve comprising:
- a housing having a mixing chamber, a cold water inlet chamber having two outlets into the mixing chamber, and a hot water inlet chamber having two outlets into the mixing chamber, wherein the housing has a length dimension, a width dimension, and a thickness dimension, and the largest of these dimensions is no more than approximately 65 millimeters;
- a cold water flow control valve having two valve members that each engage one of the two outlets of the cold water inlet chamber in a closed position of the cold water flow control valve;
- and
- a hot water flow control valve having two valve members that each engage one the two outlets of the hot water inlet chamber in a closed position of the hot water flow control valve,
- wherein the housing is located in a fixed shower head comprising a base, which is configured to fixedly couple to and project from a wall of a shower enclosure, and a body coupled to the base and including the outlet for discharging water.
