Abstract
Disclosed herein is a composition including a recombinant nucleic acid sequence that encodes an antibody to a Middle East Respiratory Syncytial Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) viral antigen. Also disclosed herein is a method of generating a synthetic antibody in a subject by administering the composition to the subject. The disclosure also provides a method of preventing and/or treating an MERS-CoV virus infection in a subject using said composition and method of generation.
Claims8
A nucleic acid molecule encoding one or more synthetic antibodies, wherein the nucleic acid molecule comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of:
- a) a nucleotide sequence encoding an anti-Middle East Respiratory Syncytial Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) synthetic antibody comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2;
- and
- b) a nucleotide sequence encoding a fragment of an anti-MERS-CoV synthetic antibody comprising at least one selected from an anti-MERS dMAB heavy chain comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:5 and an anti-MERS dMAB light chain comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:7.
