Claims16
A segmented body suit comprising:
- a suit body including a torso region, a first arm region, a second arm region, a first leg region, and a second leg region;
- wherein the torso region includes a chest region, an abdominal region, a pelvic region, and a back region;
- a plurality of segmentations including a first segmentation configured to attach to the suit body and curved to conform to a first underlying anatomical body part and a second segmentation configured to attach to the suit body and curved to conform to a second underlying anatomical body part, wherein the plurality of segmentations including:
- a chest segmentation made of a buoyant material and including a lower end and an upper end, wherein the upper end is attached to the chest region of the suit body;
- and
- at least one of:
- an abdominal segmentation made of a buoyant material and including a lower end and an upper end, wherein the upper end is attached to the abdominal region of the suit body,
- a pelvic segmentation made of a buoyant material and including a lower end and an upper end, wherein the upper end is attached to the pelvic region of the suit body, and
- a thigh segmentation made of a buoyant material and including a lower end and an upper end, wherein the upper end is attached to the thigh region of the suit body;
- and
- one or more fins attached to at least one of (i) the plurality of segmentations and (ii) the suit body,
- wherein the one or more fins comprises at least:
- a center chest fin including a blade attached to the chest segmentation, the center chest fin extending down the chest region, and ending above the abdominal region, and
- first and second lateral chest fins attached to the chest segmentation and located on opposite sides of the central axis and each comprising an elongate, arcuate blade extending down the chest region with a convex side of each elongate, arcuate blade facing the center chest fin.
