A sheet-fed printing unit has a first impression cylinder and a second impression cylinder, which are arranged directly and interactingly in contact and which each have an axis of rotation. An axial plane contains the axes of rotation. A reference plane is a plane which contains an axis of rotation of a cylinder of this type and has a horizontal surface normal. These two cylinders are arranged such that an intersection angle between the axial plane and the reference plane is a maximum of 15°. A transport path is provided for a transportation of sheets, which transport path has a region for the respective impression cylinder in which there is contact between sheets and a casing surface. This region of the transport path for the respective impression cylinder extends over an angular range of at least 270°. A sheet-fed printing machine has a sheet-fed printing unit of this type.
A sheet-fed printing unit, wherein the sheet-fed printing unit has a first impression cylinder and a second impression cylinder, which first and second impression cylinders one of have direct contact with one another and are arranged to interact directly with one another and each of which first and second impression cylinders has an axis of rotation, and wherein an axial plane (E1) is a first plane (E1) containing both the axis of rotation of the first impression cylinder and the axis of rotation of the second impression cylinder, and wherein a reference plane (E2) is a second plane (E2) containing at least the axis of rotation of one of the first and the second impression cylinder and having a horizontal surface normal, and wherein the first and second impression cylinders are arranged, at least during a processing operation, such that an intersection angle between the axial plane (E1) and the reference plane (E2) is no more than 2°, and wherein a transport path is provided for a transport of sheets, wherein the transport path has a region for a respective one of the first and second impression cylinders, and wherein in said region, there is contact between sheets, and a circumferential surface of the respective one of the first and second impression cylinders, and wherein, the region of the transport path for the respective one of the first and second impression cylinders extends over an angular range of at least 290°.
