Catalyst system for multi-block coploymer formation

An olefin polymerization catalyst system comprising:

• (A) a first olefin polymerization procatalyst,
• (B) a second olefin polymerization procatalyst, and
• (C) a chain shuttling agent,
• wherein the second olefin polymerization procatalyst (B) comprises a metal-ligand complex of Formula (I):
• wherein:
• each Z1 independently is (C1-C40)hydrocarbon, (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbon, (C1-C40)hydrocarbyl, (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbyl, Si(RC1)3, Ge(RC1)3, P(RC1)2, N(RC1)2, ORC1, SRC1, CN, CF3, RC1S(O)—, RC1S(O)2—, (RC1)2C═N—, RC1C(O)O—, RC1OC(O)—, RC1C(O)N(R)—, (RC1)2NC(O)—, halogen atom, or hydrogen atom;
• each RC1 independently is (C1-C30)hydrocarbyl or (C1-C30)heterohydrocarbyl;
• each MA independently is a metal of Group 3 of a Periodic Table of the Elements, the metal being in a formal oxidation state of +2 or +3;
• nn is an integer of 1 or 2;
• each Q1 independently is hydrogen, (C1-C40)hydrocarbyl, or (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbyl;
• each of Q2, Q3, and Q4 independently is hydrogen, (C1-C40)hydrocarbyl, (C1-C40)hydrocarbylO—, (C1-C40)hydrocarbylS—, (C1-C40)hydrocarbylS(O)—, (C1-C40)hydrocarbylS(O)2—, ((C1-C40)hydrocarbyl)2N—, ((C1-C40)hydrocarbyl)2P—, or (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbyl;
• each Q5 independently is (C1-C40)hydrocarbyl or (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbyl;
• wherein Q1 and Q2, Q2 and Q3, Q3 and Q4, and Q4 and Q5 optionally are taken together to form a (C1-C40)hydrocarbylene or (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbylene, or any three or four of Q1 to Q5 optionally are taken together to form a respective trivalent or tetravalent analog of (C1-C40)hydrocarbylene or (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbylene, and the remainder of Q1 to Q5, are as defined above;
• each of the (C1-C40)hydrocarbyl, (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbyl, Si(RC1)3, Ge(RC1)3, P(RC1)2, N(RC1)2, ORC1, SRC1, RC1S(O)—, RC1S(O)2—, (RC1)2C═N—, RC1C(O)O—, RC1OC(O)—, RC1C(O)N(R)—, (RC1)2NC(O)—, (C1-C40)hydrocarbylene, and (C1-C40)heterohydrocarbylene groups independently is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more RS substituents;
• and
• each RS independently is a halogen atom, polyfluoroalkyl, perfluoroalkyl, polyfluoroaryl, perfluoroaryl, unsubstituted (C1-C18)alkyl, F3C—, FCH2O—, F2HCO—, F3CO—, oxo (═O), R3Si—, R3Ge—, RO—, RS—, RS(O)—, RS(O)2—, R2P—, R2N—, R2C═N—, NC—, RC(O)O—, ROC(O)—, RC(O)N(R)—, or R2NC(O)—, and two RS are optionally taken together to form an unsubstituted (C1-C18)alkylene, wherein each R independently is an unsubstituted (C1-C18)alkyl;
• and
• optionally, RC1 or RS may have an additional interaction with MA.
