Devices, systems and methods for flux removal from furnace process gas

A system for removal of a flux in a gas stream, the system comprising:

• a scrubber chamber having a gas inlet disposed in a first scrubber portion of the scrubber chamber through which the gas stream enters the scrubber chamber, and a gas outlet disposed in an second scrubber portion of the scrubber chamber through which the gas stream exits the scrubber chamber;
• a gas withdrawal device disposed downstream from and fluidically connected to the gas outlet of the scrubber chamber and operating at a condition for withdrawing the gas stream through a height or length of the scrubber chamber from the gas inlet to the gas outlet of the scrubber chamber;
• a rinse agent entry port proximal to the gas inlet through which a rinse agent enters the scrubber chamber;
• wherein the flux in the gas stream withdrawn through the height or length of the scrubber chamber interacts with the rinse agent in the scrubber chamber, whereby a portion of the flux in the gas stream becomes dispersed in the rinse agent thereby removing the portion of the flux from the gas stream;
• a fluid exit port for draining the scrubber chamber;
• and
• a heat exchanger mechanism fluidically connected to the fluid exit port and the rinse agent entry port, the heat exchanger mechanism adapted for receiving a first fluid portion of fluid drained from the scrubber chamber, cooling a second fluid portion of the first fluid portion to a select rinse agent entry temperature, and delivering the second fluid portion at the select rinse agent entry temperature to the scrubber chamber via the rinse agent entry port.
