A method for producing a phosphine transition metal complex, comprising reacting

• a phosphine derivative represented by formula (2):
• wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 each independently represent an optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group, or an optionally substituted adamantyl group;
• R5 represents a monovalent substituent;
• n represents an integer of 0 to 4;
• and R1 and R2 are different groups from each other, and R3 and R4 are different groups from each other,
• a phosphine derivative represented by formula (3):
• wherein R6, R7, R8 and R9 each independently represent an optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group, or an optionally substituted adamantyl group;
• R10 represents a monovalent substituent;
• y represents an integer of 0 to 4;
• and R6 and R7 are different groups from each other, and R8 and R9 are different groups from each other, and
• a salt of a transition metal of gold, copper or silver
• to obtain a phosphine transition metal complex represented by formula (1):
• wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R7, R8 and R9 each independently represent an optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group, or an optionally substituted adamantyl group;
• R5 and R10 each independently represent a monovalent substituent;
• n and y each independently represent an integer of 0 to 4;
• M represents a transition metal atom selected from the group consisting of gold, copper and silver;
• X− represents an anion;
• and R1 and R2 are different groups from each other, R3 and R4 are different groups from each other, R6 and R7 are different groups from each other, and R8 and R9 are different groups from each other.
