Abstract
Provided is a separation membrane that is suitable for use in separating one or more hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon mixture. More specifically, the separation membrane includes a porous support for which acid content is not substantially detected by ammonia temperature programmed desorption in a temperature range of higher than 450° C. and not higher than 600° C. and a porous separation layer containing a zeolite that is disposed on the porous support.
Claims5
A separation membrane for use in membrane separation of a hydrocarbon mixture containing a linear hydrocarbon and either or both of a branched hydrocarbon and a cyclic hydrocarbon of equivalent carbon number to the linear hydrocarbon, the separation membrane comprising:
- a porous support consisting of shirasu porous glass, for which acid content is not substantially detected by ammonia temperature programmed desorption in a temperature range of higher than 450° C. and not higher than 600° C.;
- and
- a porous separation layer containing a zeolite that is disposed on the porous support.
A method of producing a separation membrane for use in membrane separation of a hydrocarbon mixture containing a linear hydrocarbon and either or both of a branched hydrocarbon and a cyclic hydrocarbon of equivalent carbon number to the linear hydrocarbon, the method comprising a step (A) of forming a porous separation layer containing a zeolite on a porous support for which acid content is not substantially detected by ammonia temperature programmed desorption in a temperature range of higher than 450° C. and not higher than 600° C., wherein the porous support is shirasu porous glass.
