Abstract
A utility vehicle includes a plurality of ground-engaging members, a frame supported by the ground-engaging members, and a plurality of body panels supported by the frame. The utility vehicle also includes a radiator supported on a rear portion of the frame. Additionally, the utility vehicle includes an air intake assembly partially supported by an upper portion of the frame.
Claims39
A utility vehicle, comprising:
- a plurality of ground-engaging members;
- a frame assembly supported by the ground-engaging members and including a lower frame portion coupled to an upper frame portion by upstanding members, and the frame assembly extending generally longitudinally from a front end of the utility vehicle to a rear end of the utility vehicle, the upper frame portion including front upstanding members and rear upstanding members;
- an operator area supported by the frame and including seating for a driver, the seating facing forward towards the front end of the utility vehicle;
- a powertrain assembly supported by the frame and including an engine and a drive system operably coupled to the engine;
- and
- an air intake assembly fluidly coupled to the engine and the drive system and including a housing, a first portion coupled to the housing and the upper frame portion and configured to provide air to the engine, and a second portion coupled to the housing and the upper frame portion and configured to provide air to the drive system, wherein the first and second portions are supported generally rearward of the seating and positioned adjacent and between the rear upstanding members.
A utility vehicle, comprising:
- a plurality of ground-engaging members;
- a frame assembly supported by the ground-engaging members and including a lower frame portion coupled to an upper frame portion, the upper frame portion including rear upstanding members coupling the upper and lower frame members;
- an operator area supported by the frame and including seating for a driver, the seating including a seat bottom and a seat back, and the upper frame portion extending above the seating;
- a powertrain assembly supported by the frame and including an engine and a drive system operably coupled to the engine;
- an air intake assembly fluidly coupled to the engine and the drive system and including a housing, a first air inlet configured to provide air to the engine, and a second air inlet configured to provide air to the drive system, wherein the housing defines both the first and second air inlets and the housing is positioned above the seat bottom and above at least a portion of the seat back, wherein the first air inlet and the second air inlet are rearward-facing;
- and
- an air deflector coupled to the upper frame portion, the air deflector configured to surround a portion of the upper frame portion and operable to direct air flowing toward the air intake assembly.
A utility vehicle, comprising:
- a plurality of ground-engaging members;
- a frame assembly supported by the ground-engaging members and including a lower frame portion coupled to an upper frame portion, the upper frame portion including front upstanding members and rear upstanding members;
- an operator area supported by the frame and including seating for a driver, the upper frame portion extending above the seating;
- a powertrain assembly supported by the frame and including an engine and a drive system operably coupled to the engine, the drive system comprising a continuously variable transmission;
- and
- an air intake assembly fluidly coupled to the engine and the drive system and including a housing configured to provide air to the engine and to the drive system, wherein the housing is coupled to and supported by the rear upstanding members of the frame assembly at a position rearward of the seating and a portion of the air intake assembly is positioned vertically above an uppermost portion of the continuously variable transmission and vertically higher than an uppermost portion of the seating, the air intake assembly defining a first air pathway and a second air pathway, the air intake assembly including a wall defining a first air inlet to the first air pathway and a second air inlet to the second air pathway within the housing, the wall separating the first air pathway from the second air pathway.
