Claims22
A fish whose white muscle, red muscle, or white and red muscle long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (LC-PUFA) content has been increased by feeding the fish a feedstuff comprising plant oil whose total fatty acid content comprises 5.5% (w/w) stearidonic acid (SDA), wherein the LC-PUFA content of the white muscle, red muscle, or white and red muscle of the fish has been increased relative to the white muscle, red muscle, or white and red muscle, respectively, of a corresponding fish fed a corresponding feedstuff lacking plant oil whose total fatty acid content comprises 5.5% (w/w) SDA.
