Abstract
A method, apparatus, and computer program for controlling allocation of control message fields in uplink transmission in a cellular telecommunication system are presented. Uplink control message fields are allocated to the resources of a physical uplink shared traffic channel according to an uplink transmission scheme selected for a user terminal. The control message fields are allocated so that transmission performance of the control messages is optimized for the selected uplink transmission scheme.
Claims12
A method of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) uplink transmission performed by a user terminal, the method comprising:
- spreading control information with a first spreading code to generate first coded control information, wherein the control information is acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) information or rank indicator information;
- spreading the control information with a second spreading code that is different than the first spreading code to generate second coded control information;
- and
- transmitting, to a base station, the first coded control information via a first spatial stream via at least a first antenna and concurrently transmitting the second coded control information via a second spatial stream via at least a second antenna that is different than the first antenna, wherein the first spatial stream and the second spatial stream are transmitted using single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA).
A user terminal configured for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) uplink transmission, the user terminal comprising:
- a processor configured to:
- spread control information with a first spreading code to generate first coded control information, wherein the control information is acknowledgement (ACK)/negative acknowledgement (NACK) information or rank indicator information;
- and
- spread the control information with a second spreading code that is different than the first spreading code to generate second coded control information;
- a first antenna and a second antenna that is different than the first antenna;
- and
- a transmitter configured to transmit, to a base station, the first coded control information via a first spatial stream via at least the first antenna and concurrently transmit the second coded control information via a second spatial stream via at least the second antenna, wherein the first spatial stream and the second spatial stream are transmitted using single carrier frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA).
