Configuring mobile device applications based on location

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• monitoring a parent geofence that geographically encompasses a plurality of child geofences, each respective child geofence of the plurality of child geofences associated with a respective physical location within the parent geofence;
• receiving location data that indicates a current location of a mobile device;
• determining, based at least in part on the current location, that the mobile device has entered a particular child geofence of the plurality of child geofences within the parent geofence;
• responsive to determining that the mobile device has entered the particular child geofence within the parent geofence, customizing a notification for a mobile application based on the particular child geofence within the parent geofence, the customized notification including inventory information associated with services available for purchase within the particular child geofence;
• and
• transmitting the customized notification to the mobile device effective to cause the mobile application to display the customized notification.
