Method for performing measurement in EN-DC case, and user equipment therefor

A device for performing measurements, the device comprising:

• at least one transceiver,
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory operably connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
• determining a total number of slots to be interrupted during a measurement,
• wherein the processor is configured to control the transceiver to perform the measurement during a measurement gap length (MGL),
• wherein the transceiver is configured for asynchronous dual connectivity to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) cell and a new radio access technology (NR) cell,
• wherein the MGL includes one of 3 ms, 4 ms and 6 ms;
• wherein the total number of slots to be interrupted is determined based on a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of the NR cell and the MGL,
• wherein the SCS of the NR cell includes at least one of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz and 120 kHz, and
• wherein the transceiver does not transmit during any of the total number of slots to be interrupted.

A method for performing communication related to a measurement, the method performed by a base station and comprising:

• transmitting measurement gap configuration information to a device,
• wherein the device is configured for asynchronous dual connectivity to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) cell and a new radio access technology (NR) cell,
• wherein the measurement gap configuration information includes a measurement gap length (MGL),
• wherein the MGL is used by the device to perform the measurement, and
• wherein the MGL includes one of 3 ms, 4 ms and 6 ms;
• and
• receiving a signal from the device,
• wherein the signal from the device is not received during any of a total number of slots to be interrupted during the measurement,
• wherein the total number of slots to be interrupted is determined based on a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of the NR cell and the MGL, and
• wherein the SCS of the NR cell includes at least one of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz and 120 kHz.

A base station for performing communication related to a measurement, the base station comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory operably connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
• transmitting measurement gap configuration information to a device,
• wherein the device is configured for asynchronous dual connectivity to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access (E-UTRA) cell and a new radio access technology (NR) cell,
• wherein the measurement gap configuration information includes a measurement gap length (MGL),
• wherein the MGL is used by the device to perform the measurement, and
• wherein the MGL includes one of 3 ms, 4 ms and 6 ms;
• and
• receiving a signal from the device,
• wherein the signal from the device is not received during any of a total number of slots to be interrupted during the measurement,
• wherein the total number of slots to be interrupted is determined based on a subcarrier spacing (SCS) of the NR cell and the MGL, and
• wherein the SCS of the NR cell includes at least one of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz and 120 kHz.
