Abstract

Aspects include selecting a first edge device to provide a first part of a service to a user equipment, establishing a first session between the first edge device and a device for a duration of the service, establishing a second session between the first edge device and the user equipment in accordance with a first access technology to transfer first data associated with the first part of the service to the user equipment, and responsive to determining that at least one parameter associated with the second session falls below a threshold performing: handing-over the second session to a second edge device to transfer second data associated with a second part of the service to the user equipment, establishing a third session between a third edge device and the user equipment to transfer third data associated with the second part of the service to the user equipment, or a combination thereof.

Dependent claims

A device, comprising:

a processing system including a processor;
and
a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
obtaining a request associated with a service from a user equipment, wherein the request comprises at least one credential associated with:
the user equipment, a user of the user equipment, or a combination thereof;
responsive to the obtaining of the request, verifying that the request is valid by comparing the at least one credential with a plurality of verified credentials;
establishing a first session between a core network and an access network responsive to the verifying;
selecting a first edge device of the access network responsive to the establishing of the first session;
and
establishing a second session between the first edge device and the user equipment in accordance with a first access technology to provide at least a part of the service to the user equipment.

verifying that a request for service from a communication device is valid by comparing at least one credential of the request with a plurality of verified credentials;

selecting a first edge device of the access network responsive to the establishing of the first session;
and
establishing a second session between the first edge device and the communication device in accordance with a first access technology to provide at least a part of the service to the communication device.
