Abstract

Methods and systems are described herein for providing streamlined access to media assets of interest to a user. The method includes determining that a supplemental viewing device, through which a user views a field of view, is directed at a first field of view. The method further involves detecting that the supplemental viewing device is now directed at a second field of view, and determining that a media consumption device is within the second field of view. A first media asset of interest to the user that is available for consumption via the media consumption device is identified, and the supplemental viewing device generates a visual indication in the second field of view. The visual indication indicates that the first media asset is available for consumption via the media consumption device, and the visual indication tracks a location of the media consumption device in the second field of view.

Dependent claims

A method comprising:

receiving with a wearable device an image of a field of view;
determining, based on the image of the field of view, that another electronic device is within the field of view;
receiving information indicating that a media asset is available to be played on a display of the another electronic device;
and
generating, by the wearable device, a visual indication in the field of view, wherein, the generating the visual indication comprises generating the visual indication on the wearable device such that it appears overlaid over the display of the another electronic device, wherein the visual indication indicates that the media asset, which is currently not displayed on the another electronic device, can be played on the display of the another electronic device in response to an input selecting the media asset.

control circuitry configured to:
receive with a wearable device an image of a field of view;
determine, based on the image of the field of view, that another electronic device is within the field of view;
receive information indicating that a media asset is available to be played on a display of the another electronic device;
and
generate, by the wearable device, a visual indication in the field of view, wherein, the generating the visual indication comprises generating the visual indication on the wearable device such that it appears overlaid over the display of the another electronic device, wherein the visual indication indicates that the media asset, which is currently not displayed on the another electronic device, can be played on the display of the another electronic device in response to an input selecting the media asset.

A non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions encoded thereon, that when executed by control circuitry causes the control circuitry to:

receive with a wearable device an image of a field of view;
determine, based on the image of the field of view, that another electronic device is within the field of view;

generate, by the wearable device, a visual indication in the field of view, wherein, the generating the visual indication comprises generating the visual indication on the wearable device such that it appears overlaid over the display of the another electronic device, wherein the visual indication indicates that the media asset, which is currently not displayed on the another electronic device, can be played on the display of the another electronic device in response to an input selecting the media asset.
