Abstract
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for implementing roaming services utilizing zero-configuration networking over a wide area network. Disclosed are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for implementing zero-configuration networking over a wide area network by utilizing agents, application programming interfaces (API), and a controller. The controller can implement policies for communication between the agents and APIs, enabling zero-configuration network.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving at least one request to advertise a service of a network device in a network environment that is received from the network device in response to the network device roaming to a new subnet in the network environment;
- determining whether information associated with the service exists for the new subnet in a database of services in the network environment;
- when the information is determined to exist in the database, determining whether a conflict exists between the information and the at least one request;
- and
- when the conflict is determined to exist, updating the database based on the at least one request.
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory configured to store instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
- receive at least one request to advertise a service of a network device in a network environment that is received from the network device in response to the network device roaming to a new subnet in the network environment;
- determine whether information associated with the service exists in a database of services in the network environment;
- when the information is determined to exist in the database, determine whether a conflict exists between the information and the at least one request;
- and
- when the conflict is determined to exist, update the database based on the at least one request.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions, which when executed by a processor, causes the processor to:
- receive at least one request to advertise a service of a network device in a network environment that is received from the network device in response to the network device roaming to a new subnet in the network environment;
- determine whether information associated with the service exists in a database of services in the network environment;
- when the information is determined to exist in the database, determine whether a conflict exists between the information and the at least one request;
- and
- when the conflict is determined to exist, update the database based on the at least one request.
