Abstract
Embodiments include method for authentication including interacting with a user by a server in real time to collect verification data for authentication by requiring the user to take an action in real time; comparing a detected reaction by the user in response to the requirement to take the action to a predetermined metric; and determining based on the comparison to the predetermined metric, whether to authenticate the user.
Claims18
A method for distributed, mutual authentication of a plurality of parties, comprising:
- locally storing, by each party a segment of a generator matrix, plus a segment of a parity check matrix, of a linear binary code, wherein, in each authentication session, one of the plurality of parties acts as a master;
- locally generating, by each party for the purpose of mutual authentication, as coordinated by the master, a segment of a code-word, randomly selected by the master, from the linear binary code;
- receiving two or more binary segments at the master through a secure communications channel;
- concatenating, by the master, a plurality of binary segments, the plurality of binary segments including the two or more binary segments received at the master and the binary segment generated at the master;
- and
- verifying at the master whether a result of the concatenation of the plurality of binary segments results in a valid code-word.
A device comprising:
- a processor;
- and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the device to:
- generate a first binary segment of a code-word randomly selected from a linear binary code;
- coordinate a local generation of a second binary segment of the code-word randomly selected from the linear binary code locally at each respective device of two or more other devices;
- receive the two or more second binary segments one from each of the two or more other devices through a secure communications channel;
- concatenate a plurality of binary segments, the plurality of binary segments including the received two or more second binary segments and the first binary segment;
- and
- verify that the concatenated plurality of binary segments results in a valid code-word.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- locally store, by each party a segment of a generator matrix, plus a segment of a parity check matrix, of a linear binary code, wherein, in each authentication session, one of the plurality of parties acts as a master;
- locally generate, by each party for the purpose of mutual authentication, as coordinated by the master, a binary segment of a code-word, randomly selected by the master, from the linear binary code;
- receive two or more binary segments at the master through a secure communications channel;
- concatenate, by the master, a plurality of binary segments, the plurality of segments including the two or more binary segments received at the master and the binary segment generated at the master;
- and
- verifying at the master whether a result of the concatenation of the plurality of binary segments results in a valid code-word.
