Abstract
Each node constituting a distributed storage system includes one or more controllers. Each controller includes an actual queue group for each drive physically coupled to the controller, and a virtual queue group for each of a plurality of drives. A Drive-IO issued by any controller and received is accumulated in the actual queue group corresponding to an issue destination drive of the Drive-IO after accumulated in the virtual queue group corresponding to the issue destination drive.
Claims15
A distributed storage system providing logical volumes to a host system, comprising:
- a plurality of storage nodes associated with a plurality of drives, wherein
- each of the plurality of storage nodes includes one or more controllers,
- each controller has a coupled drive which is a drive physically coupled to the controller in the plurality of drives,
- in a case where the each controller receives a Host-IO from the host system or another controller, the Host-IO being transmitted from the host system and being an I/O (Input/Output) command specifying an address of a logical volume, the each controller issues a Drive-IO on the basis of the received Host-IO, the Drive-IO being an I/O command specifying an address of a drive,
- the each controller includes an actual queue group containing one or more actual queues for each coupled drive of the controller, and a virtual queue group containing one or more virtual queues for each of the plurality of drives,
- each actual queue is a queue in which the Drive-IO transmitted to the drive is accumulated,
- each virtual queue is a queue in which the received Drive-IO is accumulated, and
- a target Drive-IO which is the Drive-IO received by any controller is accumulated in the actual queue group corresponding to an issue destination drive of the target Drive-IO after accumulated in the virtual queue group corresponding to the issue destination drive.
A storage controlling method implemented in a distributed storage system providing logical volumes to a host system,
- the distributed storage system including a plurality of storage nodes associated with a plurality of drives, wherein
- each of the plurality of storage nodes includes one or more controllers,
- each controller has a coupled drive which is a drive physically coupled to the controller in the plurality of drives,
- in a case where the each controller receives a Host-IO from the host system or another controller, the Host-IO being transmitted from the host system and being an I/O (Input/Output) command specifying an address of a logical volume, the each controller issues a Drive-IO on the basis of the received Host-IO, the Drive-IO being an I/O command specifying an address of a drive,
- the storage controlling method, comprising:
- setting, for the each controller, an actual queue group containing one or more actual queues for each coupled drive of the controller, and a virtual queue group containing one or more virtual queues for each of the plurality of drives, each actual queue being a queue in which the Drive-IO transmitted to the drive is accumulated, each virtual queue being a queue in which the received Drive-IO is accumulated, and
- accumulating a target Drive-IO which is the Drive-IO issued by any controller in the actual queue group corresponding to an issue destination drive of the target Drive-IO after accumulating in the virtual queue group corresponding to the issue destination drive by the controller receiving the target Drive-IO.
