Abstract
Disclosed is a device for modulating a nerve of a patient by applying electrical stimulation to the nerve of the patient. The device includes a stimulation module that applies a signal to the nerve of the patient, and a controller that controls a signal to be applied to the stimulation module, wherein the signal to be applied to the stimulation module includes pulse bursts and a direct current (DC) waveform.
Claims13
A device for modulating a nerve of a patient by applying electrical stimulation to the nerve of the patient, the device comprising:
- a stimulation module comprising an electrode configured to apply a signal to the nerve of the patient;
- and
- a controller configured to control the signal to be applied by the stimulation module to the nerve of the patient,
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the signal to include a pulse bursts period and a direct current (DC) waveform period, which are arranged alternately and are not overlapped,
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the pulse bursts period to include a plurality of pulses, each of which has a first current value, and
- wherein the controller is further configured to control the DC waveform period to have a DC waveform having an output current value that is continuously changed from the first current value to a second current value.
